Back out into the cold

I’m doing it again! Each year I participate in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout® – an annual event to raise money for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of finding themselves without a safe place to call home

This year the Sleepout is on Thursday 17 June, and will be my 7th time swapping my warm bed for cold concrete on the longest and coldest night of the year.

Last year, due to COVID, the Sleepout took place in my backyard (yep my wife locked the door), but this year it’s back on again at Sydney’s White Bay Overseas Passenger Terminal. I’ll be joining business, government and community leaders across Australia in sleeping out.

I am aiming to raise $20,000, with the help of business partners, clients, family, friends and colleagues. The funds help ensure Vinnies’ vital services can stay up and running – meeting the increasing demand due to COVID-19, job losses, sky-rocketing energy prices along with other social and economic pressures keep homelessness on the rise.

If you are able to join in by donating, I would be deeply appreciative. Donations are tax deductible and can be processed online. https://www.ceosleepout.org.au/fundraisers/michael-curtin/new-south-wales

I would greatly appreciate your support for this important cause. The Vinnies CEO Sleepout happens for just one night, but it raises vital funds to support people all year round.

Here’s my bed from a previous CEO Sleepout – just a bit of cardboard between me and the floor!
