Helping to fight homelessness with the Vinnies CEO Sleepout®

On Thursday 20 June, I will spend the longest and coldest night of the year sleeping on the concrete at White Bay Cruise Terminal in Sydney as part of the 2019 Vinnies CEO Sleepout®. Why? To raise funds to address homelessness in our community.

This will be my 5th CEO Sleepout, and while the reality of it means a cold, uncomfortable night, it’s something I really look forward to. As a CEO, I’m humbly aware of my privilege, and my comfortable existence. Yet more than 116,000 Australians experience homelessness every night, one third of which are children. That’s not a reality I’m comfortable with. I’m grateful for the opportunity to swap my privilege for one bad night out in the weather, knowing that by doing so I’m making a difference to some of the most vulnerable in our community.

This year I am aiming to raise $15,000, with the help of business partners, clients, family, friends and colleagues. If you are able to be join in by donating, I would be deeply appreciative. Donations are tax deductible and can be processed online.

This money will go towards crisis accommodation options for families and individuals at risk of homelessness, case management and counselling, educational and living skills courses, health services and home packages for those people Vinnies helps transition to housing.
